1How much is shipping charges?
We wish to keep shipping cost to the minimal. Depending on your location of order, weight of the product and distance from Delhi or Kerala, the products are priced and shipped to your address. The shipment could cost anywhere between Rs.30/- to Rs.100/-. The prices will be provided to you before shipment of the order.It could take anywhere between 24 to 48 hours for us to ship the goods, once your payment is received and cleared. We shall also send you an email to let you know once the goods are shipped.
2Is my order secure?
With Instamojo as a payment gateway, you can use any of the Bank’s in India, Master or Visa Card for your payment. We also have an option of American Express. Payments can also be made through NetBanking or COD. All purchases through our website is secured and safe.
3Will you add my email address automatically to your rail list, just because I order something from you?
Your email address will be in our database, and only on your confirmation shall we share relevant information regarding spices, offers and deals. Your email address shall help us give you discounts on subsequent purchases made. Secondly, unless you add me in your mailing list checkbox on the order verification page, or send us an email message asking to do so, you wont receive unsolicited email.
4What is your privacy policy?
Home of Spices does not sell, rent or share any of your personal information to any third party vendor or agency. Your information is used for the sole purpose of completing your purchase or contacting you regarding the purchase done by you.
5How do you package your spices?
Our spices are sold in Eco-friendly, bio-degradable spice pouches only. Some of our customised offerings are made out of pine leaves. We only cut the matured leaves of the pine tree to make natural spice boxes. This way we ensure that the plant regenerates on its own. We protect our environment in a small way by following sustainable farming practices only. Even our 100gm retail pouches are made of bio-degradable pouches. These pouches have double zip lock to retain the freshness and aroma of spices inside.
6How should I store spices?
Store spices in cool, dry and dark conditions with limited exposure to sunlight, moisture. Heat is the best way to store herbs and spices. All our pouches and spice box are made of natural pine leaves and are Eco-friendly bags. Some of the bags act as multi purpose stocking items. You may also store in well sealed glass jar. We offer spices in Turkish glass jar or sealed wooden cases as shown on the website, that are ideal, strong and sturdy enough for spices and herbs to stored in your kitchen racks. Temperature fluctuations can cause condensation and moisture to form over a period of time,hence its recommended to store in air-tight containers only.
7What is the expiry date for my spices?
Generally, whole spices retain their best flavours for years! Its should last anywhere between 3 to 5 years. Proper storage results in spices being fresh and aromatic. Grounded spices may last anywhere between 6 to 12 months, depending on the kind of spices. We have intentionally kept the expiry date for most of our spices to ONE year, so that you use cook freshly and call us for more spices!
8How to store spices?
Large quantities of spices should be stored in air-tight jute bags or in sealed containers. Small quantities can be stored in air-tight glass jars, bottles with rubber seals to prevent air/moisture. Do not keep spices next to oven or heating appliances as all the essential oils and aroma from the spices gets lost when kept new ovens or gas cylinders. NOTE: Never keep saffron in refrigerator. Store saffron in dark place and keep them in air-tight packs only.
